Chewy Snickerdoodles

I don't really like the snickerdoodles that hold a mounded shape and dry out fast. These are nice and chewy, like a good sugar cookie with more interesting flavor. From https://www.modernhoney.com/the-best-snickerdoodle-cookie-recipe/

  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Cream butter and sugar for 4-5 minutes until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla and cream 1-2 more minutes.
  3. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt just to combine. Maybe wrap and chill 20-30 minutes.
  4. Prepare cinnamon sugar mixture for rolling
  5. Make small balls, coat well, and dimple the center to keep it from puffing up too much
  6. Bake 9-11 minutes and let cool for a few minutes before removing from pan
