Korean Ground Beef Rice Bowls

I feel like I'm posting a ton of beef recipes, but everybody in the family loves this one, you can start the rice cooking, do the beef while the rice cooks and be eating in 20 minutes - it's VERY easy. Also, this one would be just as good with some soy based ground beef substitute. Also - make extra, leftovers are the bomb.

I made a batch of this the other day with 150% of the beef but more like 300% of the other ingredients. A bit spicer, a bit more flavor. Feel free to pump up the seasoning a bit.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a large skillet cook the ground beef and garlic breaking it into crumbles over medium heat until no longer pink.
  2. In a small bowl whisk brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, red pepper flakes and pepper. Pour over the ground beef and let simmer for another minute or two.
  3. Serve over hot rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. (I consistently forget both the green onions and the sesame seeds. I'm sure it's prettier with them, but still awesome without.)
